The lampshade is a moustache cut into a neat trapezoid: wider at the base, angled sides, ending exactly at the corners of the mouth, with modest, even height. It is the chevron's office-friendly sibling, groomed where the chevron is grown. Its shape gave it the name, and its restraint gives it a place on faces and in workplaces where a bigger moustache would be a topic. Unremarkable by design, dependable for the same reason.
