The walrus lets the moustache grow until it hangs over the mouth like its marine namesake's whiskers. Nietzsche and Mark Twain wore it as furniture of the face, and it still communicates a certain indifference to convenience: eating and drinking become negotiations. Underneath the drama it is technically simple, just unchecked growth with an occasional shaping, which makes it the easiest of the big statement styles to achieve.
Who does it suit?
Needs a strong jaw or long face to balance its mass; on round faces it compresses everything below the nose.
How to maintain it
Comb daily, wash after meals when needed, scissor-shape monthly. Accept the practical costs before growing it.
